We have five Activity Centres across the region, where you can hire watersports equipment, launch your own craft or learn something new with our friendly and qualified instructors:

Extend your stay and camp at Roadford Campsite, Siblyback Campsite, Stithians Campsite, Tamar Campsite or Wimbleball Campsite.


Our lakes provide the perfect setting for a great day out in Cornwall, Devon and on Exmoor. Venture along our trails, encountering nature face to face. Refuel at our onsite cafés with delicious snacks, cakes and hot drinks. Enjoy a wide range of fun things to do – try an activity on or off the water for the very first time, shoot an arrow or swing through the trees, discover paddleboarding or explore our lakes by canoe. Extend your stay and enjoy a night under canvas, create a family holiday packed with new experiences creating lifelong memories.

From canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing to archery and high ropes – there’s plenty of outdoor activities to experience the ultimate day out or holiday with the family in Cornwall, Devon and on Exmoor.

Explore the spectacular lakes of the South West by sail. Our five activity centres provide a variety of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get out on the water and experience a completely unique view of the lakes. Spot wildlife, play games and enjoy some quality time immersed in nature with friends and family. 

Hire our equipment 

Come and sail on our beautiful lakes. We have picos, fusions, visions and bahia/wayfarers available to hire. 

Pico / fusion hire starts from just £30 (Sailing experience equivalent to RYA Stage 2 or Level 1 required)

Vision / bahia / wayfarer hire starts from just £60 for 2 hours (Sailing experience equivalent to RYA Stage 4 or Level 2 required)

Price includes use of wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets - you will need to bring your own footwear, swimsuit and towel.

Please note, under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.

You must meet a minimum competency level for sailing; staff will check that you meet this level when you arrive. Please note that sailing is only available to book over the phone at Wimbleball Lake.

Launch your own dinghy

If you have your own boat why not launch it on one of our lakes?

Day launch costs only £12 per craft, per day or, if you are a regular visitor to the lake, you may be interested in becoming a member. Membership entitles you to unlimited launch at all five activity centres, along with many other benefits.

'Have a go' and 'Get into' sailing sessions

Learn something new with one of our qualified and friendly watersports instructors. Our 'Have a go' and 'Get into' sailing sessions are a great way to gain new skills whilst having fun in the great outdoors.

Courses and clubs

Learn the basics of sailing with our qualified instructors in a safe and fun environment. RYA courses are internationally recognised qualifications in dinghy sailing. 

Courses run throughout the year at each of the centres and bespoke courses are available to suit your specific requirements.

Or join one of our sailing clubs. Whether you’re a complete novice and are looking to learn something completely new, or you already have a little bit of experience and are looking to further your knowledge and skills in a certain area, we have the club for you.
