Why volunteer?

Volunteering can bring a sense of belonging and open up a whole new world. Whilst benefiting from being outdoors, you can also help the environment and encourage and support people through activities and learning opportunities.

Volunteers make a valuable contribution to our work – whether that’s helping out with habitat enhancements, wildlife surveying, maintaining the grounds or supporting our recreation team to deliver all the great things they do. We achieve so much more by working with enthusiastic volunteers – very often from our local communities.

In 2018 our volunteers across the region gave 4,000 days of their time freely.
That’s equivalent to a quarter of our entire workforce!

We provide the ideal opportunity for people who are looking to find paid employment in these areas. We know it’s not always easy to find the right job in the right location and then, very often, when you do you’re competing against lots of other candidates. Demonstrating that you have got out there and volunteered to learn new skills and to gain experience working with a team can make you stand out from the rest.

Whatever your motives for volunteering, we’d love to hear from you. Visit our Volunteering Opportunities page or contact us on 01566 771930 or email Charley
