Longham Lakes, located close to the idyllic town of Ferndown in Dorset, offer a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Take a leisurely stroll around the two lakes and spot an abundance of wildlife which call Longham their home. Relax on the shorelines and take part in a spot of fishing; join one of the many community clubs which use the site, or simply make the most of the amazing photo opportunities at the lakes.

Walking at Longham Lakes

Enjoy the beautiful scenery on a walk around the lakes, which can be approximately 1.5 miles combined. Bring along your four legged friends, but ensure they are kept on leads to protect the wildlife and to ensure that they do not enter the water.

Whilst Lake One is specifically for fishing, Lake Two is used by local clubs for canoeing, model yachts and model planes. The car park is currently for authorised users only, however all are welcome to enjoy a walk at this beautiful location.

Wildlife at Longham Lakes

The lakes boast a comprehensive bird list of over 147 species, while offering a tranquil retreat with scenic footpaths, which provide breath-taking views of both lakes. In summer, the lakes are surrounded by rushes and reeds with wild flowers in abundance, providing ample photo opportunities.
