Our lakes provide the perfect setting for a day out in Cornwall, Devon and on Exmoor. With miles of footpaths and cycles trails to explore, woodlands to discover and play areas to burn off energy, everyone can get involved and benefit from being outdoors at the lakes. It's your outdoors - come and explore!

In Cornwall you can enjoy a round lake walk at Siblyback Lake followed by a light lunch or fun in the new play area, or perhaps try your hand at fishing at Upper Tamar Lake. Stithians Lake offers the opportunity to get on the water with friendly instructors, and you can even enjoy an overnight stay in a bell tent.

Roadford Lake in Devon is great for wildlife spotting, cycling and stand up paddle boarding. From Burrator, you can explore Dartmoor and find out about the history of the reservoir in our Discovery Centre. High up on Exmoor, there's no better place to enjoy a long weekend away from it all than at Wimbleball Lake, with peaceful walks, a range of watersports, a high ropes course and a first class campsite.

We are proud of the work we do to ensure we protect special places for people and wildlife.

There are so many ways for you to get involved with our charitable work. We really do rely on the goodwill of our volunteers, Friends of South West Lakes and donors to help our teams in achieving so much at our lakes. Without your generous support, South West Lakes wouldn’t be able to benefit so many people across the south west. You also ensure that our lakes and surrounding countryside continue to be maintained to very high standards – for visitors and wildlife alike.

You can support our work by becoming a Friend of South West Lakes, volunteering, becoming a regular donor or by supporting one of our campaign appeals

We believe engaging with the natural environment enables people to grow.
