About us Blog 5 things to do at the lakes this Easter A trip to one of the lakes is the perfect way to make memories as a family. So, why not spend the school holidays outdoors with our top five things to do at the lakes this Easter! 1. Go for a nature walk and see what you can spot along the way. Pull on your wellies and head out for a stomp along the pathways that wind through trees, past bird hides and down to the water. A rich variety of habitats and wildlife surround the lakes, providing the perfect opportunity to do some nature spotting on your walk. Which birds can you see or hear from the bird hide? Can you identify each tree you come across? How many acorns or minibeasts can you find? At Roadford Lake Café and Visitor Centre, and Burrator Discovery Centre, pick up one of our spotter sheets to take with you. 2. Complete an Easter trail Complete one of our Easter trails at Wimbleball, Stithians, Argal, Tamar and Siblyback lakes. Find the Easter Bunnies around the lakes to collect clues and letters to help you solve the quiz! Available from Saturday 9 – Monday 18 April 2022. 3. Try something new during one of our activity weeks Get out on the water and have a go! Try a new sport with one of our Easter activity programmes at Stithians, Wimbleball and Roadford. Take your pick from sailing, windsurfing, archery, paddleboarding, kayaking or high ropes. Or, join the Easter Eggstravaganza at Stithians to take part in a variety of challenges as a team to collect clues and win chocolate! 4. Get involved in an Easter activity day Come along to one of our fun-filled Easter activity days at Wimbleball, Tamar, Siblyback and Longham Lakes. Enjoy spring-themed activities such as woodwork, environmental art and campfire cooking. See upcoming events here. 5. Enjoy a delicious Easter treat Finish off a walk or simply enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake at one of our cafes or catering vans – it tastes that much better with a beautiful view of the water!
