About us News Spook-tacular activities at the lakes this October half-term 8 October 2021 We’ve got an action-packed programme of fun family activities on offer this October half-term. Join us and the Caradon Observatory team for a nocturnal themed family activity evening at Siblyback Lake, near Liskeard, on Friday 22 October. The evening will start with a twilight walk, learning about the nocturnal animals that roam the lake and how they use its water, then observing the constellations visible from the lake when it gets dark with the Caradon Observatory team. It will finish with an art activity blending water and stars. The event starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 9pm. Advanced booking is advised, as spaces are limited. Tickets are £3 per person. On Wednesday 27 October, at Roadford Lake near Okehampton, we’re hosting a creepy crawly themed family activity adventure. Look for bugs and invertebrates beneath the lake’s surface with the help of the charity’s environment and engagement rangers, learning how and why these creatures use the water and why Roadford Lake is just as important to us. Have fun with creepy crafts to finish the session. There will be two sessions: 10am-12.30pm and 1pm-3.30pm. Advanced booking is advised, as spaces are limited. Tickets are £3 per child and £2 per adult.
