January 2023

The following race report is from Alan Smith, our Visitor Experience Manager for North Devon:

"Wow! What a great day of running, marshalling and supporting on the first Tamar Lake 8km.

"We certainly had some changeable weather on the day so a big thank you and kudos to all involved. Special thanks to Bude Rats, our marshals, Sean from HPT Sport for sponsoring the event (also a marshal), Jim Finlay for professional photography (also a marshal), Mark at Omega medical, Laser brand for our sustainable medals, all South West Lakes staff and of course Tamar Lake Café for refuelling us post-race.

"The women’s category saw some very strong running with first place going to Claire Strong, second going to Laura Ettcott and third to Julia Bailey.

"For the men's category, Hayden Bond earned first place with a rapid time of 30.14; the now official course record, second place going to Dan Parkin and third to Stewart Charge.

"Looking forward to seeing you all at the next race!"
