Just five minutes off the A30, between Launceston and Okehampton, you will find the spectacular Roadford Lake. Surrounded by countryside, and nestled amongst the beautiful surroundings of the Wolf Valley with the dramatic tors of Dartmoor as its backdrop, Roadford is the perfect location for your next family escape.

Staying at Roadford

Our scenic lakeside campsite has a choice of spacious electric and non-electric pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes as well as a fantastic bell tent called Bertie.

The AA graded 3 star campsite has a dedicated camping shower block, disabled facilities, an undercover barbeque area, a washing up area, washing machine and dryer, baby changing facilities, waste disposal and recycling facilities.

Whether you're joining us for the day or staying a little longer, there is a wide range of activities for all ages at the lake, including:

There’s also plenty of fun and free things to do. Discover the cob shelter, spot a range of wildlife from the bird hides, whizz through the off-road cycle trails or simply relax and enjoy the spectacular views.

Did you know that our five activity centres are managed by South West Lakes? We aim to provide social inclusion and accessibility for all. We want more people to engage with the outdoors and have fun, irrespective of ability, age and background. Find out more here.

Refuel at the cafe

Enjoy the stunning views overlooking the lake whilst tucking into a delicious treat from the popular café. Roadford Cafe, open 7 days a week, is located across the water from the activity centre and can be reached via a scenic walk, which takes around 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can drive the short distance across the dam. Click here for more information. The cafe is currently serving light lunches, drinks, cakes and ice creams.
