Our lakes provide the perfect setting for a great day out in Cornwall, Devon and on Exmoor. Venture along our trails, encountering nature face to face. Refuel at our onsite cafés with delicious snacks, cakes and hot drinks. Enjoy a wide range of fun things to do – try an activity on or off the water for the very first time, shoot an arrow or swing through the trees, discover paddleboarding or explore our lakes by canoe. Extend your stay and enjoy a night under canvas, create a family holiday packed with new experiences creating lifelong memories.

Safeguarding our visitors and team of employees is our priority and therefore we have certain measures in place to limit the spread of coronavirus and maintain the safety of everyone.

Whilst open, we must maintain social distancing and hygiene standards to a level that we feel minimises the risk of spreading coronavirus. If at any point we have concerns that visitor numbers or public behaviour are restricting our ability to do this, we reserve the right to close particular lakes or facilities without prior notice.

Book your SW Lakes break or experience with confidence

We all like to have something to look forward to and, in these uncertain times, we appreciate that you need to be confident that your money and your plans are protected. When you book a break or experience with us you have our guarantee, that if your break is prevented by COVID-19 we will alter your dates with no amendment fees or give you a full refund.

All camping must be pre-booked – you can do this on our website by clicking the book now button at the top of the page.

When the government take us to step 2 of the lockdown restrictions, earliest 12 April, we will welcome campers in self-contained units. This will include motorhomes, caravans, camper vans and tents with their own toilet tent. At this time we are unable to offer shared shower and toilet facilities, including the pot wash areas. Campers failing to turn up with amenities will be turned away with no refund. 

Following the further step from the government, from the 17 May (earliest) our shared campsite facilities will be open under strict cleaning guidance and anti bac’ stations on entrances. Campers will be welcome but asked to follow social distancing measures and to follow the hands, spaces and face guidelines.

Please note restrictions and guidance from the government is data driven not by dates. IF restrictions are pushed back bookings will be amended in line with our COVID 19 booking terms and conditions.

Roadford, Stithians, Tamar and Wimbleball Lake have washroom facilities available for campers; these are being closely managed in line with government advice, we reserve the right to close these with no prior notice should guidelines not be adhered to.

Each SW Lakes campsite will be able to offer a minimum of a fresh water tap, toilet/grey water disposal point and an accessible toilet. Please note, due to matters out of our control, we are currently unable to offer a toilet/grey water disposal point at Siblyback Lake.

Each lake provides a perfect place to relax and unwind, connect with the great outdoors and spend time making memories with your family. There are miles of footpaths to explore and plenty of opportunities to cycle.

PLEASE DO NOT come to site if you or a member of your household are showing any signs of COVID-19.

Keeping our campsites safe:

  • Social distancing rules will be adhered during check in and check out
  • Pitches can only be occupied my members of the same household
  • Camping and touring pitches will have at least a 3m gap in between or every other pitch will be used to ensure there is a minimum of 3 metre distance between campers.
  • The reception areas will be closed, staff will greet you outside and can answer any questions via telephone or email
  • ALL CAMPERS will be treated fairly, please do not put a member of staff in an awkward situation by asking them to open a closed facility for you or your party.
  • The toilet has hand sanitizer secured outside, please use this when entering and exiting. Toilets will be cleaned in line with our updated Covid-19 procedures, this will be at least once a day and more when necessary in line with our risk assessment.

We have important guidelines in place for all visitors, following the instructions below will help us to keep our visitors and our team safe and enable our gates to stay open.

  1. Please respect our team; they are doing their best to keep you safe during your visit
  2. Please follow all instructions given on posters and by members of the team
  3. Social distancing; please maintain at least the recommended social distance between yourself and others at all times, lakes will be open from sunrise to sunset to help you maintain this
  4. Please wash your hands in line with government guidance, as often as possible. Where no facilities exist please use personal hand sanitiser
  5. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Please do not allow dogs to jump up at people, please take your dog waste home
  6. We have tied open gates around the lake to remove touch points wherever possible, please leave them as you find them
  7. We do not actively clean site furniture such as benches, please use these only if absolutely necessary
  8. Access to the water is only permitted via our activity centres or an approved club. Swimming is not permitted in any water.
  9. Please respect the wildlife it has had nearly seven weeks of little to no disturbance
