What's On Free coarse fishing taster day Friday 12 August, Upper Tamar Lake National Fishing Month (1-31 August) is all about celebrating the social, wellbeing and environmental benefits of angling. Angling offers you a chance to get outside, experience nature at its best, get the whole body moving, take a breath and allow your mind the time it needs to reset. If you're a complete novice, find out why coarse fishing has so many people hooked at this free, family-friendly event, with plenty on offer for the experienced angler as well! There will be demonstrations including how to best set up rods to prevent snags and tangles, correct unhooking techniques and equipment and wound care. Younger visitors will enjoy learning more about different fish species with our interactive 'hook a fish' game. And you can learn more about invasive non-native species and what we can all do to prevent their spread. Find us just up from the Activity Centre on Friday 12 August from 10.30am to 4pm.
