Great Turn Out at Argal Family Wildlife Day

There was a great turn out at our annual Family Wildlife Day at Argal Reservoir on Saturday 19 August with lots of families enjoying a whole range of activities.

All those who attended got stuck in with bug hunting, sports activities and crafts with the clear highlight being the fishing where lots of children had their first ever experience of catching and seeing fish. Visitors also got to learn about ‘Upstream Thinking’ and how farming affects the reservoir.

Beth Heasman, Countryside Warden for South West Lakes Trust, said ‘Thanks to everyone who came along to our event and for all the donations we received. I would also like to say a huge thank you to our volunteers for helping, to Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Fitness Wild for providing some activities and to Rose Summers Photography for taking some fantastic photos!’

Money raised from these events at Argal are going towards a fund for making improvements to the play area at the lake. Keep an eye on our website for information about upcoming events at Argal or call 01566 771930.
