Over 140 Spectators Brave the Rain at Lakeside Jungle Book Performance

With beautiful views over the Lake, the amphitheatre at Roadford was the perfect spot for an outdoor production of Rudyard Kipling’s classic ‘The Jungle Book’, performed by Chapterhouse Theatre Company.

Throughout the day palm trees, costumes and props arrived intriguing all visitors. With the weather still dry ticket holders brought chairs, rugs and tents to ensure they could battle any weather. Many also dressed for the occasion. Elephant onesies, bear gloves and monkey ears could all be spotted in the crowd ready to get involved with the action.

Baloo, Mowgli, Shere Khan, Bagheera and the gang all put on a great show. Although spectators experienced a few down pours, in true British fashion everyone continued to “woop” and cheer as ‘The Jungle Book’ unfolded.

Rachael Morgan, Events Coordinator at Lakeside said, ‘It was great to see over 140 people here at Roadford Lake enjoying the beautiful scenery. We have so much space to have fun it’s great to make the most of it, even when we’re experiencing a very typical British summer!’
