CAFE SUPERVISOR - LAKESIDE, ROADFORD LAKE

We are looking for a Café Supervisor to manage, organise and run efficiently a profitable catering establishment and gift outlet at our Lakeside venue, Roadford Lake. You will maintain standards and hygiene to a degree of excellence, serving food and drinks to a high standard and the retailing of gifts. Maximising sales and cross promotion at every opportunity.

SALARY:            £16,120.00 per annum

DURATION:       Permanent

HOURS:             40 hours per week (including weekends and Bank Holidays)

NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OFFICER (SSSI)

We are recruiting for a Natural Environment Officer to plan and implement our Sites of Special Scientific Interest programme on behalf of South West Water.

The post holder will be required to commission relevant surveys, write site specific management plans and plan and organise habitat management with volunteers and contractors. You will also be required to liaise with South West Water, statutory and non-statutory organisations throughout the programme.

With at least two years' experience of employment in nature conservation, as well as an understanding of current nature conservation policy, you will be able to demonstrate excellent project management skills and experience in writing management plans. We require someone who is a good communicator at all levels with an enthusiastic and positive approach to working within a small team and the ability to work under their own initiative.

A vehicle will be available for travel to the sites in Devon and Cornwall.

£22,000 - £25,000 per annum (37 hour week)

Fixed term until March 2017 with potential for annual extensions to March 2020 subject to funding

Based at Roadford Lake, Okehampton, but required to travel to various sites in Devon & Cornwall

Casual Instructors - all sites

We are currently looking for qualified activity instructors (water and land based activities) at all levels to work the 2016 season, ideally holding 2 or more coaching qualifications in sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, kayaking, paddle boarding, high ropes (ERCA), indoor climbing, archery or mountain biking. Training will be provided in other activities, but previous experience in leading raft building, team building, and orienteering or similar will be an advantage.

Contracts vary from full-time, fixed term and six month contracts to flexible 0 - 40 hours per week. All contracts to include some evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Cleaner - Wimbleball Lake

We are looking for a part-time cleaner at our centre at Wimbleball Lake, nr Dulverton on Exmoor.

Key responsibilities will be to clean the toilet and shower blocks located at Café and Outdoor and Active Centre at Wimbleball Lake. Maintaining high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the facility.

Salary: £7.20 per hour plus holiday pay

HOURS: From 2 hours per day, 5 days a week, to include some
weekends and bank holidays

Conservation Volunteers

The Trust's conservation team works closely with a dedicated team of Volunteer Conservation Officers (VCO's) and conservation volunteers. Our VCO's take on a particular site and implement our conservation objectives guided by our Conservation Officers.

We are currently looking to recruit VCO's for Fernworthy Reservoir. If you are able to give approximately seven hours a week (or more) and are interested in taking a more responsible role please have a look at the task description to the right of this page.

Angling and Fishery Volunteer

Required to join the team at Wimbleball Lake to assist with the efficient and smooth running of the Wimbleball fishery.

Applicants should have a thorough understanding and keen interest in fly fishing, good communication skills and a flexible approach to working within a busy team.

Salary: Incentives and discounts as agreed with Centre Manager
