Siblyback Open Day Success - Sun 6 Jun 2010
The day kicked off at 10.00am when some incredible ‘Wowballs' arrived at the centre. Throughout the day children and adults alike spent tiring minutes running across the lake in the wowballs resembling giant inflatable hamster balls.
All day kayaking taster sessions were only £3 and windsurfing or sailing taster sessions were only £6. This attracted a lot of attention from local people and holiday makers, especially children who couldn't wait to do the activities again and again. A climbing wall was another special treat for the children on Open Day. More than 80 children took up the challenge to reach the very top of the wall and abseil down to the ground. The afternoon brought stronger winds to Siblyback Lake, making windsurfing and sailing much more interesting for the beginners.

From 2pm Trustees and staff of the South West Lakes Trust attended the Open Day. They welcomed the Friends of the Trust and the public to share ideas and the exciting plans for the future development of Siblyback Lake including a new building for changing rooms, showers, toilets and conference rooms. The building work is due to be underway in October 2010.
