BBC ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMME FILMS AT COLLIFORD LAKE - Wed 7 Jan 2009

Cameras were rolling at Bodmin beauty spot Colliford Lake recently to film an episode of the new series of It’s Not Easy Being Green scheduled to be screened weekly on BBC2 from Wednesday 7 January.

The latest series sees environmentalist Dick Strawbridge teaming up with his son James and The Culture Show presenter Lauren Laverne to find out more about living an eco-friendly life, with a featured guest celebrity each week.

The episode filmed at Colliford Lake shows popular comedian Phil Jupitus enjoying a ‘green' holiday with Lauren Laverne in an EcoStream caravan, equipped with a woodburning stove for heating and preparing meals.

Brenda Birmingham, Publicity Officer of South West Lakes Trust, which manages Colliford Lake said, "It's great to see such high profile coverage of the South West leading the way in adopting a more eco-friendly lifestyle. We're expecting a big increase in the numbers of holiday visitors to Colliford and the other lakes we manage next season, as more people opt for holidays in the UK. The show demonstrates that holidaymakers can visit the region's most beautiful locations and remain sensitive to the environment."
