A NEW LODGE FOR KENNICK - Sat 14 Feb 2009

The Anglers Lodge was officially opened on 19 March by Chris Loughlin, Chief Executive of South West Water, who said: "Trout fishing used to be a formal, organised recreation for a select few. Over the years it has become a more inclusive sport, available to all. Over the past 30 years, Kennick Fly Fishers have helped to recruit new participants, with an increasing emphasis on women, young people and people with disabilities."

To encourage more people to stay involved, South West Lakes Trust, which manages Kennick, has worked closely with Dartmoor National Park, utilities, the Environment Agency and the local community to come up with a sustainable and accessible design and location for the new facilities.
