Stithians Lake is reputed to be one of the windiest inland waters in England. It's not surprising therefore that it is a favourite with windsurfers and sailors alike.

Welcome to the 2012 programme of activities for Stithians Lake. The programme runs from March to November, however the centre is open all year and activities can be arranged outside these times. We can provide a range of exciting activities for visitors aged six and over. Please call us or pop in and we'll make every effort to give you all the help you need.

Kids Activity Day 9.30 - 3.00 Just £25 per person A fun day on the water for children between 8 and 16 years of age. Activities range from sailing/windsurfing/rafting and kayaking (activity depends on windstrength). Emphasis is on fun sessions rather than structured lessons.

Sailing and Windsurfing Courses £135.00 per person
Two day RYA sailing and windsurfing courses are available on demand. The RYA windsurfing courses cost £135 (minimum 3 people) and the Sailing courses are £135 (minimum 3 people). We can arrange courses for 2 people at £185 per person or £280 for one to one tuition.

Stithians Windsurf Rally - 25-27 August 2012

Three days of windsufing tuition for all levels. Includes camping, BBQ, evening entertainment and T-shirt.
Diva Weekend - 19 & 20 May 2012 - £80 - Women's windsurfing weekend - suitable for beginners/intermediate and advanced. Tuition from female instructors. Includes two days of windsurfing tuition, a yoga session, BBQ and camping - plus souvenier T-shirt!
Sunday Adult Level 1 Sailing Course - Starts 27th May 9.30-12.30 (six sessions) £15 per session
Interested in learning to sail? This is a course for you - Start Sailing in 6 sessions. By the end of the course you should be able to tack and gybe, sail a simple course and be ready to hire boats and work towards your level 2 in sailing.
Sunday Adult Level 1 Windsurfing Course - Starts 27th May 9.30-12.30 (six sessions) £15 per session
Interested in learning to windsurf? This is a course for you - Start Windsurfing in 6 sessions. By the end of the course you should be able to tack and gybe, sail up wind and will be ready for our Project Windsurf Club.
Project Windsurf Sunday Club - Starts 15th April 1.00-3.00 £15.00 per session
A drop in club suitable for adults who have done the basics, but also suitable for more advanced windsurfers. This is a chance to meet up with like minded windsurfers, practice yoyur skills and includes the hire of equipment and top tips from our instructors.
Land Activities
Climbing wall, bouldering wall and freestanding bouldering rock. We also offer archery tuition. For a 2 hour climbing and archery session the cost is £25 for an adult or £15 for children - bring the family (2+2) and we can offer you a special family rate of just £60. If you fancy trying your hand at these new activities call the centre to enquire about dates!
WOW Balls at Stithians £5.00 per session or £100 for birthday groups
Most Saturday and Sunday afternoons from Easter onwards 1.00 to 3.00 the WOW balls are available at £5.00 for 10 minutes (dependent on weather). Please check with the centre when they are running. Birthday specials, hire all four WOW ball for 1 hour for up to 10 people for £100. Please contact the centre to book.
Joy Rides on the Drascombe Longboat £10 per person
From Sunday 15th May from 1.00 enjoy a sailing trip around Stithians Lake on our Drascombe Longboat. £10 per person. Please contact the centre to book.
Sailability £6.00 per person
This session is available for people with varying disabilities. The sessions take place on Sundays from 15th May to 2 October at 11.30 to 12.30. We have a Drascombe longboat to take people out on the lake for joyrides and access can be provided for people via our pontoon hoist where necessary. For experienced disabled sailors we also have two International 2.4mR one-person keelboats. The 2.4mR is ideal for handicap integrated sailing since the sailor does not move in the boat, and everything is adjustable from right in front of the sailor. Both hand-steering and foot-steering are possible. Also available is our Wheelyboat which can be hired for half a day for £30 or £45 for a full day. The boat has a ramp which enables people in wheelchairs to be rolled onto the craft and is particularly suitable for disabled fishermen/women. Please enquire at the centre for further details.
Junior Watersports Club (April until September) £40 membership and £8 per session
For complete beginners to the more advanced. The WAVES Junior Club gives
youngsters the opportunity to learn to sail or windsurf in a fun and safe
environment. There is also the opportunity to progress onto the Junior Dinghy Racing/race training and Team 15 Stithians Allstars junior windsurfing squad. Contact the centre to put your child's name on the waiting list for April 2012.

Enjoy the thrill of sailing these fast exciting boats at one of the windiest lakes in the UK. RYA Recognised Multihull centre with boats suitable for children and adults. Tuition available for beginners to advanced. Joyrides and taster sessions - RYA courses, Trapeze and Spinnaker sessions.

What to bring?
You will require a towel, swimming costume, trainers or wetsuit boots (suitable to get wet in), sunhat or wooly hat, warm jacket, suncream, a drink and a packed lunch (if appropriate). Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are included in tuition prices or you may wish to bring your own.
