This majestic water, one of England's most westerly trout fisheries, is regularly stocked with rainbow trout. It contains a natural head of brown trout. Fly fishing only, from both bank and boat (advance booking is essential to guarantee a boat). Large numbers of hawthorn flies guarantee good, dry fly fishing in the first part of the season, while the large number of sticklebacks means that Autumn fry-bashing can produce some exiting sport. Tuition is available from local instructor Gary Champion (01872 863551), who can cater for groups and individuals. The local fishing club (CAST) organises competitions and social events.
