This reservoir sits in open moorland on South Dartmoor, where there is a one-and-a-half mile walk along the river (no fishing on river) from the car park to the dam. Ice-creams and snacks are available from a van during the summer, and toilet facilities suitable for disabled people are situated in the car park.

Free wilderness brown trout fishing for wild fish from the bank is available to holders of a valid Environment Agency Rod Licence (non-migratory). Permitted angling methods at this reservoir include: spinning, fly or bait. ‘Catch and release' option available (barbless hooks to be used), otherwise up to 4 fish over 7" may be taken in a day. Free car parking.
