Leisure & Activities activities for primary schools

The lakes make excellent outdoor classrooms and primary schools can find a host of cross-curricular and cross-stage activities.

The Trust has developed different downloadable activity packs, some are for use in class and others are for use on your next visit to a lake. New activities are added regularly so don't forget to check these pages.

All staff and volunteers involved with young people and vulnerable adults undergo CRB checks and relevant training.

At Roadford, Stithians, Upper Tamar, Burrator, Siblyback and Wimbleball we have indoor spaces where groups can gather for lessons when the weather is poor. Roadford's yurt is heated by a woodburner in the winter and provides an educational experience in itself.

Every school in the region is welcome to make self-guided visits, using our activity packs if they wish. It is really essential for young people to become confident on and around water. Why not combine this with activities on the water? Water activities can engage children's imagination and make them eager to come back for learning experience covering environmental history and life skills topics. Our centres are licenced by the AALA, RYA and BCU. Please contact the relevant Area Manager to book your visit.

Our Countryside Service will happily help you to organise an educational visit.
