Lakes & Facilities Venford

Venford Reservoir, near Ashburton, Devon
map ref: LR202 685713

Venford is a pretty lake lying on the southern edge of Dartmoor National Park and serves as a good starting point for walks on to the open moorland.

A forty minute walk along the water's edge is easily completed, with picnic tables en route making this a great walk for families with young children.

A trail installed jointly with Devon Wildlife Trust and Dartmoor National Park enables children (and adults) to take pencil rubbings of wildlife images around the lake.

Toilets are provided by Dartmoor National Park Authority in the car park.
Environment Agency rod licence holders can fish for free from 15 March - 12 October for natural brown trout.
