Porth is a mature coarse fishery and designated bird sanctuary. The lake is a peaceful and picturesque site just outside of Newquay and is certainly worth a visit to enjoy the Cornish countryside.

The recently completed an Environmental Enhancements Project has seen improvements to angling facilities and the surrounding environment along with interpretation boards and additional access paths including a nature trail with information on the flora and fauna along the way.

Two new bird hides have been put in; the visitor centre has been renovated and now has informative display. A Porth walks & information leaflet is available on site or from info@swlakestrust.org.uk

Public footpaths can be linked to create a circular walk, and the lake lies on the SUSTRANS cycling route 32 for further information visit www.sustrans.co.uk

Porth is open all year round for angling and can be booked for competitions via our head office (01566 771930); day permits are available from the visitor centre. To cause least disturbance to wildlife, dogs are not permitted at this lake.
