WILDLIFE WORKSHOP - Thu 23 Apr 2009

The Trust's Conservation Team has recently been meeting with like-minded volunteers who collect wildlife data at the sites in its management. Evolving from this recent work was a Wildlife Workshop.

The Wildlife Workshop was held on 23 April at Lakeside, Roadford Lake (near Okehampton) and was a free event for anyone who currently records wildlife, or would like to, at any of the Trust sites.

The event, which ran from 10am - 2.30pm, included a variety of interesting presentations from volunteers who already work with the Trust including Dragonflies by David Smallshire of the British Dragonfly Society, Helen Shaw of Devon Bat Group and Phil Harris of Cornwall Butterfly Society.

The main aim of the event was for the Trust's Conservation Team to meet with volunteer recorders and to discuss ways of working together going forward. The discussion workshop allowed the 50 delegates the opportunity to discuss the data they collect and future opportunities.
