Conservation biodiversity

Biodiversity means the variety of life; the different plants, animals and micro-organisms, their genes, and the ecosystems in which they live and depend upon.

The Trust has management plans for each site in its management, these plan detail our plans to enhance and conserve biodiversity and there are many ways that everyone can help and become involved.
The Trust has a Biodiversity Action Plan which includes action plans for eleven habitats and eight species. Although our two-year, jointly funded, Biodiversity Project with South West Water is complete we have taken recommendations and findings forward into the relevant site plans. We are currently encouraging volunteers to help us record species on our sites.
