 current projects

We develop projects in line with our Improvement Programme 2005 - 2010 which is produced by our staff in consultation with interested parties.

We work with partners such as Forestry Commission, South West Tourism, County Sports Partnerships and sports bodies to deliver new projects in the areas of leisure activities and conservation.

A few projects are supported outright by South West Lakes Trust as a charity, but in most cases we seek additional, outside funding or support from volunteers for projects meeting our charitable objectives.

Examples of current and recent projects

• Wimbleball Activity hub, a new Watersports centre for Exmoor
• Waves project, an initiative getting more young people into watersports
• All-ability fishing boats at Siblyback and Stithians
• Discover Wistlandpound, a partnership project giving disabled access around the lake
• Two Community Sports Coaches, getting more young people on the water and active
• Conservation projects, such as Dormouse Monitoring
